Romanian Channel Launches Public Offering

    {mosimage}BUCHAREST: Nasul TV (www.nasul.tv), the first Romanian channel financed 20% by public shares, is set to begin broadcasting at the end of February.

    The public offering launched on 24 January 2012 and will conclude on 30 March 2012. One share is valued at 101 Euro (440 RON). Up to 20% of the shares are available for Romanian or foreign citizens and Romanian or foreign companies. Three individuals and the company S.C. Fire Breaking News S.R.L. have already claimed 80,000 shares worth 8,079,670 Euro (35,200,000 RON).

    The channel received a license from the National Audiovisual Council of Romania in December 2011 and is expected to air on cable, satellite and internet. Radu Moraru, one of the shareholders and a TV star in Romania, told the agency HotNews.ro that the channel will go on air by the end of February no matter the results of the public subscription.
