Communications company RCS &RDS (www.rcs-rds.ro), one of the most important players on the market, plans to launch Digi World (science, technical, history and travel programmes) and Digi Life (lifestyle). The company already operates Digi 24 (www.digi24.ro), Digi TV Info, Digi Sport (www.digisport.ro) and Digi Film (www.digi-film.ro, with a pay-per-view option).

RCS &RDS representatives confirmed to the local press agency Mediafax (www.mediafax.ro) that the company has already filed for licences from the NationalAudiovisual Council of Romania (www.cna.ro).

Chello Central Europe (www.chellomedia.com) will launch Megamax, a sister channel of Minimax for children beween 7 and 14 years old. The channel currently airs in Hungary where it broadcasts dubbed versions of popular animation worldwide, Megamax is expected to begin broadcasting in Romania on 18 October 2012.
