Under the new management of Laura Georgescu, The CNA is arguing that programmes featuring intimate details of people’s lives would be allowed only between midnight and 6 a.m.
The issue concerns Decision nr 220/2011 on the Reglementation Code of audiovisual content. CNA wants shows exploiting immoral and indecent aspects aired only with the written approval of the person in question.
The same project states that programmes involving repeated physical violence or violent language, sex scenes and obscene language and behaviour, people in degrading situations, fights not approved by national and international sport federations, and gambling cannot be broadcast between 6a.m. and 11 p.m.
CNA also opened a campaign Violence in schools exits the TV screens and launched a hot line where children left alone in front of the TV and adults can complain about child protection violations in audiovisual programmes. Since late January 2013, more than 17,750 persons signed a petition that public interest is more important than the audience's taste.
