The main character of Dogs/Câini is Roman, a young man from the city who goes to a remote village by the Ukranian border in order to sell the land he inherited from his late grandfather only to find that his grandfather was a local crime lord.
“For me the scariest aspect of violence is not its expression but the intimate mechanism and the moral values which are leading people to commit murder,” Mirică said. He also wrote the script.
Marcela Ursu is producing through 42Km Film in coproduction with Elie Meirovitz through the French company EZ Films and Titus Kreyenberg through the German company unafilm.
