The Excellency Award went to the actor Dan Nuţu.
Short Term 12 (USA) by Dennis Cretton received the Grand Jury Prize, while Sarah Polley received Best Director prize for Stories We Tell (Canada). The Romanian Oleg Mutu received Best Cinematography Award for the Georgian-German coproduction In Bloom (Polare Film) by Nana Ekvtimishvili and Simon Groß.
The British actor James McAvoy received a Special Mention for Filth (GB) by Jon S. Baird. Another Special Mention went to Johnny Marshall for the sound design of Upstream Colour by Shane Carruth. Upstream Colour was also awarded with the Critics Prize.
The main jury was composed of: Elena Christodoulidou, Stephen Locke, Antonis Papadopoulos, Miroslav Momcilovic, Iulia Ruginăand Constantin Popescu. B-IFF is the oldest competitive feature film festival in Bucharest. It is organised by Fundaţia Charta with the support of the Romanian Centre for Cinema, Romanian Cultural Institute, Bucharest City Hall, Romanian Filmmakers Union, and it is under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Radu.
