Never Let It Go follows a university professor who has a compulsive sex life with students until he finds out that another woman, with whom he has an open relationship, is pregnant. It received a production grant of 225,083 EUR/1m RON from the National Film Center on 9 March 2015.
Negoescu will produce it through N-Graphix in coproduction with Romania’s Actoriedefilm. Negoescu told FNE that the budget is 780,000 EUR. He is now developing the script at Jerusalem Film Lab but doesn’t know when he will shoot it. Bulgarian and French coproducers will join the project if they are funded by their national bodies.
Two Lottery Tickets/ Două lozuri (working title) will be a fully independent feature produced by Actoriedefilm with a budget of minimum 50,000 EUR, of which around 75% is already in place. The total budget is bigger, but some parts of the production, such as directing, scriptwriting and acting, will come free of charge.
The story is loosely based on I.L. Caragiale’s short story and follows three guys who win a lottery but lose the tickets. Negoescu is now writing the script and will produce together with Dragoş Bucur, Alexandru Papadopol and Dorian Bogută, who will also star in the film. The premiere will not be earlier than 2016.
