Tudor Giurgiu, the director of TIFF, announced at the gala held at the National Theatre in Cluj-Napoca on 6 June 2015 that the festival broke two records this year, more than 27% tickets sold compared to 2014 and 65,000 viewers one day before the wrap. British actor Richard Johnson, the recipient of the Life Achievement Award, died less than 24 hours before the gala.
