Petre Matei wanders from village to village to meet the few remaining survivors and fill in the necessary documents for their pension. He then follows a long application procedure, confronting bureaucracy and even racist behavior from the authorities. Mihai Andrei Leaha and Ion Gnatiuc wrote the script. Ignatiuc is also the DoP.
Mihai Andrei Leaha is producing through TRIBA Film. Centrul de Resurse pentru Comunitate Cluj-Napoca is supporting and the filmmakers are also contributing, and they're still looking for coproducers.The project participated in the DocuTalent from the East during the 50th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF).
Shooting took place in various locations in Romania and Germany throughout August-December 2014 and January-May 2015. The 210 hours of rushes are now undergoing a selection process before the editing starts. A rough cut is expected for September-October 2015. The film should be finished in March-April 2016 with the premiere set for June or July 2016.
