The agreement, announced in Bucharest, was signed in Cannes by French Culture Minister Audrey Azoulay and her Romanian counterpart Corina Suteu.
The partnership will concentrate on "the conservation of the cinematographic heritage, the education focused on image, the international co-production, the support for the exploitation of cinema theatres, and the taxation," according to the announcement.
France has developed an ongoing coproduction relationship with Romania in recent years and Romanian films have had a substantial presence at the Cannes Film Festival.
