Ten films competed in the Central & Eastern Europe competition programme, while 11 titles were selected for the Romanian competition. The festival also organised a student competition and a short film competition. Sidebar events included a focus on Norway and the children’s programme ASTRA Film Junior.
Six projects were pitched at the DocumentaryTank, and three of them received awards.
The feature film Rainbow Bubbles / Baloane de curcubeu by the Romanian director and DoP Iosif Demian had a special screening. The film was made in 1982, but it was subject to censorship and never had a proper premiere.
The festival is organised by ASTRA FILM – Centre for Documentary Film and Visual Education, Department the National Museum ASTRA in Sibiu and by the ASTRA FILM Foundation.
