FNE at 2018 TIFF: The Heiresses Wins 17th Transilvania IFF

    CLUJ-NAPOCA: The Heiresses by Marcelo Martinessi was awarded the Transilvania Trophy at the 17th edition of Transilvania IFF. The festival took place from 25 May to 3 June 2018.

    Over 800 guests attended the gala hosted by TIFF President Tudor Giurgiu on 2 June 2018, including Fanny Ardant, who was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award alongside the Romanian actress Anna Széles and Jean-Marc Barr, who also presented The Big Blue as the closing film on 3 June 2018.

    Romanian actor and initiator of Aristoteles Workshop Dan Nuțu received the Excellence Award.

    The gala was dedicated to the memory of the most important Romanian filmmaker Lucian Pintilie, who died on 16 May 2018.

    The Romanian Days competition awards were also announced on 2 June. Constantin Popescu’s Pororoca was awarded best feature film.

    The Transilvania International Film Festival is organised by Romanian Film Promotion and the Association for the Transilvania Film Festival. The festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture and National Identity, the Romanian Film Centre, Cluj City Hall and Local Council, the Romanian Cultural Institute, Cluj County Council, Creative Europe-MEDIA programme of the European Union.
