The Asset will receive approximately 6.25 m EUR / 29,875,383 RON representing a 35% rebate, according to Romania’s National Commission for Strategy and Prognosis. It is produced by Arthur Sarkissian Productions, Campbell Grobman Films and Seven Stars Entertainment.
The action film about two assassins and rivals holding secrets from the Vietnam War will also be shot in London and Vietnam, for one week each, according to Libertatea.ro.
Frame Film is also servicing the vampire thriller Dampyr, an adaptation of the popular comic book franchise, which is currently shooting in Transylvania under the direction of Riccardo Chemello. The project starring Luke Roberts, Sebastian Croft, David Morrissey and Stuart Martin will receive approximately 2.28 m EUR / 10,890,521 RON as a 35% cash rebate. It is coproduced by Eagle Pictures, Italy’s Sergio Bonelli Editore and Brandon Box.
Frame Film was founded by Andrei Boncea and Dragoș Buliga, whose careers were launched by MediaPro Pictures, which was part of Central European Media Enterprises.
In June 2018 Romania approved a state aid scheme offering a 35% cash rebate on qualified expenditure for international and national productions shooting in Romania. In addition to the 35% cash rebate on qualified expenditure, productions explicitly promoting Romania, with a minimum local spend of 20% of the total budget of the production, can also apply for a rebate of 10%.
