For Kapitalism - Our Secret Recipe the filmmaker started with the presumption that Nicolae Ceauşescu could "visit" Romania 20 years after his death. What would he think Romanian capitalism might be? "Imagine he would understand that some of those nearest him built capitalism and that, generally, Romanians think only about money, cars and consumption," says Solomon.

The producer of the film, Ada Solomon, sees it as "a documentary driven not by irony, but by humour, and destined for big audiences." The producer plans to release the film in the Romanian cinemas, like other documentaries Solomon, Cold Waves and The Great Communist Bank Robbery.

Shooting started at the begining of May and will end by the begining of August.

The film is produced by HiFilm (www.hifilm.ro), together with Seppia (www.seppia.fr) and received a €92,500 grant from the National Centre for Cinema (www.cncinema.abt.ro), last year. The film is also financed with €80,000 from ARTE France (www.arte.tv/fr), French CNC (www.cnc.fr), Alsace Film Commision (www.culture-alsace.org/cinema-audiovisuel), and Pre-Media workshop, HBO Romania (www.hbo.ro), Zenith Media (www.zenithmedia.ro) and Romanian National Television (www.tvr.ro) are also supporting the project.
