PRODUCTION: Looking For A Mare's Nest in Postproduction

BUCHAREST: Dan Chişu's third feature, Looking for a Mare's Nest/Şi caii sunt verzi pe pereţi, is currently in post-production and will be finished in March 2011, in time to be submitted to the Cannes film festival, producer Giuliano Doman from Tandem Film Production (www.tandemfilm.com) told FNE.

Postproduction is taking place at Tandem Film, and the dolby digital sound will be made in Hungary. Andrei Iancu is editing.

The film is an independent production of Giuliano Doman and Tandem Film Production together with Dan Chişu and DaKINO Production (www.dakino.ro), in co-production with Panalight Romania (http://panalight.ro/1-Panarental/20-Arri-Zeiss), providing the shooting equipment. The budget is 255,000 euro.

The shooting took place in September-October 2010 with Ovidiu Gyarmath as DOP. The script, written by Dan Chişu, centers on a storekeeper who becomes unemployed when the warehouse where he worked for 15 years upgrades to informatics. The main characters are played by Ionuţ Vişan, Anca Florescu, Adrian Titieni and Tudor Smoleanu.

The local premiere is expected for Autumn 2011.
