The film is coproduced by Vratislav Slajer of Czech company Bionaut. The 1 m EUR film received development funding from the Slovak Audiovisual Fund and will apply for production funding in 2015. The project participated in the 2014 Jerusalem International Film Lab and was presented at Pitch and Feedback in Karlovy Vary.

Repka told the panel the film moves “from communism to hyper-capitalism” in the story of a man released from a long prison sentence who returns to his career as a tattooist. However, the profession has moved from a symbol of rebellion to become a mass phenomenon. The tattooist reunites with his teenage son whom he enlists in his plot of revenge.

The filmmaking team will also produce a documentary on tattooing. Using the funding and experience to research the feature film.

The film will be shot on digital format. Release is expected in August 2016.
