BRATISLAVA: Journalist and writer Angesa Kalinova died at the age of 90 on the morning of 18 September 2014 after a long illness.
Kalinova worked in cultural journalism and wrote cultural and cinema reviews for magazines and newspapers for many years, notably the weekly cultural review Kultúrny život. In the early 1970s she was banned from all culture-related jobs and was imprisoned for a short time on political charges. She was married to scriptwriter and actor Ladislav Kalina and worked for a period of time for Radio Free Europe.
She recently published an autobiography called My Seven Lives.
