FESTIVALS: Art Film Fest Kosice Celebrates 25th Anniversary

KOSICE: Settling into its new home in the eastern Slovak city of Kosice, Art Film Fest marks its 25th anniversary with a selection of 12 films in its Slovak Season section, a Peter Kerekes Special section from the acclaimed Slovak documentary director and a selection of classics hand-picked by festival president (and respected Slovak actor) Milan Lasica.

Visitors seeking an immersion in Slovak films will find additional titles in the short film competition and the amphitheatre section, to name two.

A total of 160 films will be screened in the 18 programme sections of the festival, which runs from 16 to 24 June 2017. Along with its iconic Love and Anarchy section, the festival continues to build upon its partnership with Film Europe with the Be2Cannes, featuring films from Berlin, Venice and Cannes.

The complete programme for the festival and the names of the artists who will be recognised during the 2017 festival are expected to be announced soon. This year the festival will add a new honorary prize: the Festival President’s Award.
