By Jana Kadlecova

My Husband's Women, the latest film from Ivan Vojnár, has racked up sales to Poland and Greece prior to its debut in Slovakia in late June.

The story of a married couple's lack of love is produced by the Slovak production company Arina, s.r.o. (www.arinafilm.sk). Co-production partners the Czech company Negativ (www.negativ.cz), Slovak TV (www.stv.sk), and Hungary's Tivolifilm (www.tivolifilms.com). Tivolifilm supported the film's postproduction phase.

"The budget is €1,092,000. The Slovak Republic financed 64%, Czech Republic 25% and Hungary 11%," Silvia Panakova, the Slovak producer of the film, told FNE.

Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic (www.culture.gov.sk) supported the film throughout is preproduction, production, and postproduction process in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, with a total of €470,000.

The shooting lasted one year, mostly taking place in Bratislava, its surroundings and Prague.

"The most complicated element was that we had to divide filming into several parts because of financial reasons, due to the system of granting finances in the co-producing countries, "so Panakova.

My Husband's Women was formerly titled Flowers of Sakura (Kvety sakury). "The new title expresses the film better and proves to be also more communicative towards the audience," Panakova said.
