Declining competition in the area of digital TV multiplexes in Slovenia has drawn warnings from the European Commission.
According to Telecompaper, the EC has issued two warnings.
Slovenia's second digital multiplex is being closed by operator, Norwegian company Norkring, which is exiting Slovenia. The multiplex suffered when commercial channel TV3 ceased broadcasting, eventually resulting in the loss of all channels. At the same time, the first multiplex operated by Slovenia's public broadcaster RTV (www.rtv.si) has bolstered its offerings by reducing rates.
