The film will be a combination of live performances by the world's leading alternative musicians performing Ježek's songs intertwined with archive material from the ‘60s to the ‘80s.
"The world that he described has not changed much in 30 years. It is still upside down.We get to know it through the musical journey that goes from a one-man band classical guitar player to a sixty piece orchestra performance, an underground rock band from Australia, an Italian crooner, and experimental accordion sounds of Finland, through to the hard-core punk sound of Macedonia, magical Arabic-Gypsy lyricism and American avant-garde," Seliškar said.
"At this stage we have completed shootings with most of the bands. However we are planning to involve several more in order to better capture the story," Petra Pan Film Production (www.petrapan.com) representatives told FNE. The film is produced by Seliškar together with Petra Pan Film Production Slovenia (www.petrapan.com), in co-production with the Golden Girls - Austria (www.goldengirls.at), Italy's Movimenta (www.movimenta.it), and RTV Slovenia (www.rtvslo.si). The final budget could reach 226,487 €. The producers have secured 106,200 € in funding. Shooting started in 2009 and is expected to wrap by the end of 2012.
The project was pitched at When East Meets West (WEMW) - Trieste (www.retecivica.trieste.it/alpeadria) and Doc Lisboa Pitching Forum (www.doclisboa.org). My Worlds Is Upside Down is expected to be finished by mid-2013.
