“It’s about how to overcome anger and disappoint when someone very dear to you dies,” Prosenc told FNE, and how you can come to terms with it.
“The main character is a 17-year-old girl. When her mother dies she’s not even crying. She’s hostile,” she said. After the death the girl discovers that her mother had a secret lover, and she develops a connection with the man in order to prolong the memory of her mother. Prosenc is working on a story that will take place over the course of one night, in order to intensify the emotions and actions. “I like to play with the form of the film and how it (the form) becomes the content,” she said.
The film is applying to the Connecting Cottbus pitching forum taking place in October 2014 to seek coproduction partners and will apply for production funding in Slovenia at the end of 2014. The film will shoot in autumn 2015 and be completed in autumn 2016. Slovenian production company Mono o , which produced The Tree, will produce the 800,000 EUR film. Prosenc told FNE that without coproduction partners the budget would be lowered.
