    The Pixel Lab develops and hones the skills that all media professionals now need to create, produce and distribute cross-media stories in order to maximise audience engagement and monetise effectively. Teaching is led by the world’s top practitioners currently working in the cross-media and transmedia space through focused, project-driven work.

    Past participants include European funders, commissioners, film/TV/games producers, writers, story architects, interactive designers, directors, format developers, arts professionals, advertising executives, developers…

    WHO CAN APPLY?
    European media professionals with a strong track record in their particular industry sector.  We will select a maximum of 20 producers/IP owners with a project that has cross-media potential (fiction and/or non-fiction), and 20 media professionals (producers and other professionals) without a project.
    Please note that due to funder requirements, participants must be European nationals.

    HOW DOES IT WORK?
    All participants attend a six-day residential workshop in Belgium from 30 June – 6 July 2013, with a further two stages for producers attending with a project:

    1. 30 June-6 July 2013: Residential Workshop 1 at the Château du Lac in Genval, Belgium for all participants
    2. July – September 2013: Distance mentoring via email/Skype for producers attending with a project
    3. 14 – 17 October 2013: London Workshop 2 for producers attending with a project

    1. Residential Workshop 1
    A maximum of 40 participants will be divided into four groups, each headed by a Group Leader, an expert active in the international cross-media industry. Each project producer is partnered with a professional from a different but complementary skillset relevant to the producer’s project, to work together over the course of the week.

    Teaching is through a mixture of lectures which include indepth talks, project case study presentations and panels; focused project group work with and without experts; one-to-one meetings.

    2. Distance Mentoring (for producers attending with a project only)
    Producers receive mentoring from Power to the Pixel heads, Liz Rosenthal and Tishna Molla, who have significant experience in project development and strategy, to focus on best next steps for each project.

    3. London Workshop 2 (for producers attending with a project only)
    Pitch presentation training is followed by attendance at the two public days of Power to the Pixel’s internationally renowned Cross-Media Forum. The workshop culminates in project presentations to select invited industry guests, an afternoon of business meetings and The Pixel Lab awards ceremony.
