    1st online stage of 8th ScripTeast edition is completed


    The second stage of 8th ScripTeast, training program for experienced scriptwriters from Eastern and Central Europe, is now over. After stationary session, which took place in Sterdyń in Poland, the writers continued online work on scripts with Creative Advisors and Head of Studies for 3 months. Till the end of December 2013 authors had time for re-writes and presenting new drafts. New versions of scripts will be analyzed and discussed during Berlinale. Besides one-on-one meetings with Head of Studies, the auth ors also will attend meetings with pitching specialists, representatives of international film industry and take part in other events during the film festival.
    There are 10 projects from 8 countries participating in 8th edition of ScripTeast:

    Among distinguished group of Creative Advisors of this year’s edition there are: Antonio Saura, Spanish writer, lecturer, producer, Michael Schiffer, author of triple Oscar nominee “Crimson Tide” or award winning Eran Kolirin for his first motion picture “The Band’s Visit” and others. Christian Routh, one of Head of Studies summarizes working with writers: “The participating scripts this year are outstanding and have the necessary attributes to be turned into films that will provoke, inspire, and entertain audiences in many different ways. It is a pleasure to be working with the writers to try and ensure that their potential is fulfilled.”
    After Berlinale writers will go work online again. By April 5th they have to present the final version which will be send to ScripTeast Advisory Board. Final session of the current edition will take place during Cannes Film Festival. There one of the scripts will be awarded by Advisory Board with the Krzysztof Kieślowski ScripTeast Award for the Best Script from Central and Eastern Europe.
    ScripTeast is one of the best European training program directed to scriptwriters to enhance their chances for producing their script and furthermore it being screened. Since 2006, the first ST edition, 11 projects, based on scripts taking part in the program, have been produced and further 8 are in production. 

    ScripTeast is organized by the Independent Film Foundation and supported by Media Program of EU, Polish Film Institute, Polish Television and Apple Film Production, in cooperation with the European Film Academy, the ACE Program, Producers Network, Final Draft, Film New Europe and festivals in Berlin, Cannes and Karlovy Vary.
