CentEast in China

The CentEast presentations of Eastern European works-in-progress, organised by the Warsaw Film Foundation, will be part of the Beijing Film Market on Thursday 17 April 2014.

The presence of Eastern European films in Beijing is possibile thanks to the collaboration between the Warsaw Film Foundation and its Chinese partners – Film Factory and Beijing Film Market within the framework of China-Eastern Europe Film Promotion Project, which was launched last year.

We will show fragments of eleven projects, which had been presented last October at CentEast in Warsaw and in Moscow.

The market participants will also be able to attend special screenings of two films presented at the 29th Warsaw Film Festival - „Tangerines” by Zaza Urushadze (Winner of the Best Director and the Audience Award) and „The Geographer Drank His Globe Away” by Alexander Veledinsky, awarded at numerous festivals.

CentEast team will be present April 17-19 at stand C04 at the Beijing Film Market, held at the China Millenium Monument. BFM accompanies the 4th edition of the Beijing International Film Festival, www.bjiff.com.

At the stand we will have, among other things, the materials of Film Commission Poland, Warsaw Mazovia Film Commission and information package about Eastern European film festivals, partners of CentEast: Helsinki, Odessa, Prague, Sofia, Tallinn, Transilvania, Zadar, and Warsaw.

CentEast has been organised since 2005 every October in Warsaw. In 2009 we added the Moscow part, in collaboration with TVINDIE Film Production.

CentEast in Beijing is supported by the MEDIA Mundus Programme of the European Union.
