In the six years of its existence, Ties that Bind – Asia / Europe Co-Production Workshop organised in partnership with Friuli Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund, EAVE, Udine Far East Film Festival and Busan International Film Festival / Asian Project Market has become the most relevant and successful training programme for developing European-Asian co-production.

To name just the most recent example, Ties that Bind project Flapping in the Middle of Nowhere directed and produced by graduate Diep Hoang Nguyen (Vietnam) and co-produced by graduate David Lindner (Germany) won Best Film at the Venice Critics’ Week last year.

    New features in 2015:

TIES THAT BIND is targeted at 10 Asian & European producers with projects. We are now opening the call in addition also to other European professionals interested in working with Asia (sales agents, financiers, distributors, festival programmers, co-production market representatives) or producers without project. 5 of them will be selected to be an active part of the group.

Ties that Bind 2015 will feature again 2 workshops, the first taking place  in April 2015 within the framework of the Udine Far East Film Festival (April 24 – May 2) in Italy. The dates for the second workshop will be announced.
