One World Romania (OWR) is the first documentary festival in Bucharest, and until today, still the only Human Rights Festival in Romania. OWR is a key platform for Romanian and international documentary makers concerned with human rights issues. The festival is looking for projects exploring human rights issues mainly via documentary moving images, and more recently through various other forms of art and medias.
For the first time this year, OWR opens its submission call not only to documentary films, but also for interactive documentary projects. We look for innovative audiovisual works which tell human rights non-fictional stories with medial elements beyond film: docu-games or VR, transmedia platforms or installations – or whatever else you would like to surprise and challenge us with.
We are very happy to receive films and documentary projects for all kinds of audiences – those for children and teenagers are very welcome, too.
About Submissions
Submitted projects need to meet the following criteria: - to be provided with English subtitles (for the non-English-spoken ones)
- to have been released after January 2015
- works in progress can be submitted only upon prior agreement with the festival
