Script Pool Tallinn competition winner receives the prize of 5000 euros, provided by the leading international sales & distribution company Global Screen GmbH. Five teams consisting of scriptwriters and producers will be competing in Tallinn at the open pitch on the 29th of November.
According to Triin Tramberg, Script Pool competition coordinator, this year brings exciting discoveries. "While last year’s Script Pool presented interesting projects from known directors who already had a history with the Black Nights Film Festival, then for the second edition we are welcoming emerging talents and discovering fresh voices from around the world.”

This year, Industry@Tallinn collaborates with MIDPOINT, a training and networking platform with the aim to strengthen the creative collaboration between writers, directors and producers in the development process in Central and Eastern Europe. Marietta von Hausswolff, Swedish screenwriter and script consultant who has written and co-produced the award-winning Call Girl (2012) will be this year’s MIDPOINT script doctor as she will mentor selected Script Pool Tallinn screenwriters and give feedback on their projects.
Script Pool Tallinn is a script competition with the aim of gathering talented scriptwriters with producers attached, in order to provide them support enhancing the script, thus maximising its production and distribution potential.
POWR Baltic Stories Exchange is a 4-day scriptwriters’ workshop that gives Nordic and Baltic screenwriters access to an international forum where they can present their projects and writing talent during the largest regional film market in Northeastern Europe.
This year, POWR has partnered up with In Focus, a Finnish initiative aimed at female filmmakers that provides an incubator to support four projects to cross the bridge from script to production stage. In Focus will pitch their projects in collaboration with POWR.
Like last year, the workshop will be run by experienced tutors Valeria Richter and Helene Granqvist. Selected scriptwriters will present their projects on the 29th of November. It is an opportunity to hear the new voices and stories from the Baltic & Nordic film communities and a voice from this year’s country of focus of Baltic Event 2018 – Italy.

POWR Baltic Stories Exchange was launched by our region’s MEDIA Desks with the goal to bring forward the young talent of the Nordic and Baltic countries. A few years into its success, POWR was moved under the Baltic Event Co-Production Market to give the participants an even wider forum to present their stories. Over the years, many participating projects have found a producer from Baltic Event.
