Marge Liiske, the head of Industry@Tallinn&; Baltic Event commented that based on the lessons learned during the event in 2021 as well as the experience of attending various market events this year, it is clear people do prefer a physical location and meeting face-to-face for networking. “Therefore we will welcome people in Tallinn and focus on the networking part onsite. Professionals who cannot take a trip to Estonia can check out the projects and take part in the conference program, panels and talks online.”
With the war in Ukraine, the soaring energy crisis, and a looming economic bubble burst affecting the distribution, exhibition and streaming sector, European independent industry is potentially heading into a wide-reaching downturn.
“Thus, Industry@Tallinn, in its 2022 edition, will explore and seek solutions to how European independent and small production countries can most effectively address the impending crisis to soften and mitigate its effects. It will explore alternative production, financing, and audience engagement strategies and take a hands-on approach to sustainability and greening, sharing best practices across the continent. The program will feature fireside chats and experience exchanges with industry leaders to reflect on their tools, strategies and experiences from the last bubble a decade ago. The agenda will also aim to establish highly personalized formats between European creators and innovators to discover solutions for the industry’s ongoing challenges,” Liiske added.
The programme of the 21st Industry@Tallinn&; Baltic Event includes highly appreciated features such as TV Beats Forum focusing on the latest trends of the series market, audiovisual conference European Film Forum Tallinn and various roundtables, case studies and presentations on hot topics in the film industry, as well as market activities and one-to-one meetings for all project categories: Baltic Event co-production market, Works in Progress presentations, Script Pool Tallinn, TV Beats Co-Financing market, European Genre Forum, and MIDPOINT Series Launch. The programme also includes the lectures and workshops of Black Nights Discovery Campus, an international continuing education programme, uniting the established talent programmes - Black Nights Stars, Music Meets Film and Black Room - and the newest addition Future To Film.
The Industry PRO accreditation allows its owner to get the most out of the event. In addition to full access to Industry@Tallinn &; Baltic Event program, it permits following the various parts of the summit online. Also, the accredited guests can attend screenings of the Black Nights Film Festival’s competition films in Tallinn. Accreditation is valid from November 18, and selected parts of the online program of Industry@Tallinn &; Baltic Event will be accessible after the online summit as catchup. In addition to Industry PRO accreditation, special accreditations for talents and students as well as online-only accreditations are available.

Industry @ Tallinn & Baltic Event is a summit and trade fair for audiovisual industry professionals held annually in November during the Black Nights Film Festival – one of the largest and the only FIAPF-certified competitive feature film festivals in Northern Europe. Last year Industry @ Tallinn & Baltic Event welcomed over 700 industry delegates from 60 countries. The programme included presentations of 66 film and series projects and over 110 lectures, workshops, masterclasses, panels and talks.
