After revealing the Co-Production Forum project selection, WEMW is happy to unveil the complete line-up of the sections targeting films in post-production stage: Last Stop Trieste, This is IT, First Cut+ and First Cut Lab Trieste.
Now in its tenth edition, Last Stop Trieste, the fine cut section run together with the Trieste Film Festival, will present 6 creative documentaries that were previously selected in one of the partner platforms: Ex Oriente Film, Docu Rough Cut Boutique, Balkan Discoveries, Baltic Sea Docs, ZagrebDox Pro. All films will be in the running for the Film Centre of Montenegro Award, a brand-new cash prize of 2.000 EUR offered by the Film Centre of Montenegro, and the long-standing HBO Award, cash prize of 1.000 EUR. For the seventh edition, When East Meets West and Trieste Film Festival will renew the partnership with Milano Film Network for the section exclusively dedicated to feature films and hybrid works with a strong visual and artistic approach, produced/co-produced by Italian producers or coming from any of the East & West 2024 spotlight territories. This is IT will present in total 9 works in progress ready for festival premiere/international distribution, all of them competing for the Arte Video Award, a cash prize of the value of 5.000 EUR kindly. For the fifth consecutive year, WEMW is proud to host the winter session of the international works in progress section First Cut+ and to introduce to all attending sales and festival programmers 8 promising titles from Brazil, Croatia, Czech Republic, Israel, Kosovo, Lithuania, Slovakia and the Netherlands, which will compete for the TRT Award, a cash prize of 5.000 EUR, sponsored by the Turkish public broadcaster. Last but not least, WEMW is also happy to announce the 12 companies from 12 European and Latin American territories selected for the third edition of the innovative programme EAVE Slate, and the 95 participants from 35 different countries, who will be part of the Inspirational Labs run in collaboration with CEE Animation Workshop, ESoDoc, European Virtual Production Alliance, Fantastic Film Forum, MIDPOINT Institute, Spielfabrique and with the support of Creative Europe, Programa IBERMEDIA, and in partnership with Apulia Film Commission, Film Centre of Montenegro, Film Commission Vallée d’Aoste, Fondazione Campania Film Commission, Greek Film Centre, ICAA-Film and Audiovisual Arts Institute, Icelandic Film Centre, IDM Film Commission Südtirol, REACT Regional Audiovisual Cooperation & Training - Croatian Audiovisual Centre, Film Center Serbia, Friuli Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund, Slovenian Film Centre - and Telefilm Canada.
