    Discovery Campus, an international program by Industry@Tallinn &; Baltic Event, in collaboration with prestigious international partners, seeks emerging screenwriters, directors, cinematographers, and talents in the film music and art departments. 

    Join the community of about 40 young talents worldwide in Tallinn from 18 to 22 November to learn from renowned mentors and share experiences. As networking is the cornerstone of our program, there will be events to build the network among other emerging talents and experienced industry professionals!

    Discovery Campus connects young professionals in five strands: Music Meets Film is dedicated to film music; Frame Within the Frame is for cinematographers; Black Room focuses on the art department; the Script Pool competition showcases five international projects and their teams (director, scriptwriter, and producer); and Black Nights Stars is designed for actors and actresses.     SUBMIT YOUR FILM SCRIPT TO SCRIPT POOL! 

    Directors and screenwriters, it's time to polish your screenplay and participate in this year's Discovery Campus Script Pool program!

    Among the candidates, five international projects and their teams (director, scriptwriter, and producer) will be chosen and showcased at the event. The projects will be selected with the online platform T-Port, where the participants' previous projects can be viewed.

    In addition to pitching and competing, this year's program includes panels and workshops that provide valuable insight into proceeding with the first film project and various opportunities to meet industry professionals and build a professional network.

    The highlights include: 

    • A 45-minute session with script editor Marietta von Hausswolff von Baumgarten
    • A session How to create a project pitch by David Pope
    • Four workshops by International Screen Institute focusing on the roles and tasks of the sales agents and distributors, on creating the most suitable festival strategy, and audience design.
    • The Business of Film session by Patrick Fischer from Creativity Capital

    NB! As a cherry on top, the winner of the Script Pool competition will receive an exclusive opportunity to attend The Write Retreat in Mallorca! Law Firm TGS Baltic proudly presents this prestigious award.

    MUSIC MEETS FILM PROVIDES EMERGING TALENTS WITH NECESSARY TOOLS FOR THE FUTURE CAREERS

    Music Meets Film, a highly valued section of Discovery Campus, is a meeting place for film music professionals focusing on emerging talents. The highly practical program of lectures and masterclasses will provide young professionals with useful tools for their future careers. 

    The program for Music Meets Film 2024 edition is getting its finishing touches, and it will include many highlights, including:

    • The workshop discussion, Navigating the Industry of Music and Film, in collaboration with Tier Music and Orchestral Tools, will provide a navigation map and the necessary tools to navigate the industry.
    • Panel discussion Co-Production Through Music: Estonia and Iceland based on recent co-production wonder, ‘Driving Mum’ (PÖFF 2022 Grand Prix for Best Film and Best Original Score Award winner).
    • Workshop Scoring for a Brief, where the participants will work with a renowned music supervisor in Selektor Studio in Tallinn to create a score according to an example brief. The workshop gives an experience of what it’s like to work with a music supervisor and how to read and create for a brief in a pre-set timeframe.

    CINEMATOGRAPHERS! JOIN THE MASTERCLASS PROGARAM FRAME WITHIN A FRAME

    Frame Within A Frame,  the newest part of Discovery Campus, calls for talented cinematographers to join the programme!

    The program, which will be fully announced in autumn, will include masterclass sessions with acclaimed cinematographers, case studies, and screenings followed by Q&As. 

    You are welcome to join the  Frame Within a Frame 2024, if:

    • You wish to upskill your cinematography skills
    • You’re excited about the opportunity to learn from industry experts
    • You want to broaden your industry network
    • You’re aged 21-35

    BLACK ROOM CALLS FOR YOUNG TALENTS IN ART DEPARTMENT

    Black Room has set its eyes on the visual language and artistry of cinema. Each year, the course invites art department crew members - production designers, art directors, costume designers, makeup artists, props masters, etc.- to participate in a masterclass to empower their skills and industry knowledge in creating visually compelling cinematic worlds.

    The course comprises 4 days of in-depth training sessions for eight selected art department talents. Each year, the masterclass, led by a renowned mentor, selects a topic to reflect current issues in film industry to better the expertise and knowledge in working as a creative professional. The detailed program for 2024 will be announced in the fall.

    Over the years, Black Room has welcomed renowned mentors such as Kave Quinn (“Trainspotting”, “Judy”, “Emma”, “Layer Cake”), Brunella De Cola (“The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar”, “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children”, “Maleficent”)Sabine Hviid (“Another Round”), Christian Olander (“Tom of Finland”), Jaqueline Abrahams (“The Lobster”, “Lady Macbeth”), Simon Weisse (“Matrix 4”, “Isle of Dogs”, “Grand Budapest Hotel”) and Maria Djurkovic (“The Imitation Game”, Billy Elliot”).
