ScripTeast, the only workshop created specifically for filmmakers from Central and Eastern Europe, is addressed to experienced scriptwriters, writing both for film and TV, as well as to directors, journalists and writers.
The yearlong program includes 3 stationary session: 7 days in Poland, 3 days during Berlinale and 7 days during Cannes Film Festival, where the best script of a given edition is presented with the Krzysztof Kieslowski Award for the Best Eastern and Central European Script, which also means 10000 euros for its author/s. Between the meetings there are 2 online sessions, conducted with usage of e-learning device. Throughout an edition ScripTeast participants also have an access to the newest, full version of Final Draft, the best software for professional scriptwriters.
To apply one has to have a finished or nearly finished scripts of full length feature film, translated into English. During the workshops the scripts are being developed and enhanced with help and under supervision of Creative Advisors - acclaimed filmmakers; the group so far featured ie. Andrew Birkin, Peter Webber, Cedomir Kolar, George Sluizer, Roman Paul, Michael Taylor, Bill Forsyth, Linda Myles and Petr Zelenka.
ScripTeast is organized by the Independent Film Foundation and supported by Media Programme, Polish Film Institute, Polish Television (TVP) and Apple Film Production, with partnership of European Film Academy, Ateliers du Cinéma Européen, Producers Network, e-Talenta, Final Draft and festivals in Berlin, Cannes and Karlovy Vary.
