London, Friday 13th February 2009, ITV Global Entertainment Ltd today announced it has acquired the international TV Distribution rights for Pirate Productions' New Town, the pilot drama from the award-winning Annie Griffin, producer of The Book Group and Festival.
A place which people will literally kill to live, New Town will premiere on BBC Four primetime on Saturday 14th February, as part of the broadcaster's piloting scheme. The 70 minute murder-drama pilot is set in the desirable and newly created upper echelons of Edinburgh's middle class society.
New Town stars the critically acclaimed actor and novelist Mark Gatiss (Doctor Who, The League of Gentlemen), the BAFTA Award winning actress Daniela Nardina (This Life, Festival) alongside John Brett from motion-picture The Golden Compass.

Pirate Productions is owned by Annie Griffin, the two-time BAFTA award-winning producer behind Channel 4's The Book Group and the critically celebrated film, Festival.
New Town is written, produced and directed by Annie Griffin.
