All Greek and International filmmakers are invited to participate in the first round of this international development programme. The program offers specialized know-how on international co-production of documentary film and TV. It takes place in Athens, Greece on May 4-8, 2009.

The Greek Documentary Lab will feature three days with a general focus on the international documentary scene and two days with a special focus on children and youth documentaries.

Among the experts present for the general focus on the international documentary scene will be:
Paul Devlin, Director, USA: Screening his film Blast and talking about fan based funding.
Coco Schrijber, Director, The Netherlands: Screening her film Bloody Mondays and Strawberry Pies and giving a master class on documentary film directing.
David Wingate, Script Consultant: Giving a master class on writing a documentary script.
Greg Sanderson, Executive Producer, BBC Storyville, UK: Doing a session on how to co-produce with the BBC Storyville strand.
Geoffrey Smith, Producer/Director, UK: Screening his film The English Surgeon and talking about how to 'break the ice' of the international documentary market.

Among the experts present for the special focus on children and youth documentaries will be:
Adam Gee, Cross Platform Editor at Channel 4, UK: Talking about youth documentaries with a multi platform perspective.
Pii Berg, Acquisition Executive, YLE, Finland: Talking about buying youth documentaries.
Meike Statema, IDFA Kids & Docs, The Netherlands: Giving an overview of youth documentaries and how they work best.

The Greek Documentary Lab for Co-productions is aiming at film professionals interested in working with international co-production of documentary film and TV. The development programme will offer participants detailed information on various aspects of working with international production.
