Once again the city of Antalya will host one of the most prestigious events of the year with the 46th Antalya International Golden Orange Film Festival. This year's Festival is sponsored by the Municipality of Antalya, and organized by the Antalya Arts & Cultural Foundation (AKSAV).
This year, a record breaking number of films have been submitted to qualify for the 46th Antalya International Golden Orange Film Festival. Film entries included 43 feature films, 90 documentary films and 230 short feature films. The number of films submitted this year shows a significant increase which according to Professor Dr. Mustafa Akaydın, Mayor of Antalya and Chairman of the Antalya Arts and Cultural Foundation, is the result of an accumulation of nearly 50 years of hard work and experience. The Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival not only has become a source of pride to the citizens of Antalya, but an event that has gained the respect and admirations of the entire Country.
This year's Film Festival will also become a ground breaking event due to an increasing number of films submitted by young Turkish directors who will be competing for the Golden Orange in October with their first feature films.
