DUBROVNIK: The first season of the series Knightfall produced by the A&E Television Network (U.S.) and Stillking Films (Czech Republic) started shooting in Dubrovnik on 27 June 2016. The series, produced for the History Channel, is also shooting in the Czech Republic.

WARSAW: Ryszard Zatroski is shooting Porady na zdrady, a romantic comedy about marital infidelity starring Weronika Rosati. Figaro Film Production Ltd. is producing.

TALLINN: The Finnish/Swedish/Estonian coproduction The Eternal Road directed by Antti-Jussi Annila has begun filming in Estonia.

BUCHAREST: Menocchio, the new project of Alberto Fasulo, who won the 2013 Rome Film Festival with TIR, will be an Italian/Romanian coproduction and is set to be shot in summer/autumn 2017.

BUCHAREST: Claudiu Mitcu is preparing to shoot Ultimul drum / The Last Voyage, a tragi-comic documentary road movie about an undertaker transporting Romanians who have died while working in Europe.

SOFIA: The Bulgarian National Film Center decided to support Brighton 4th, the third feature film by acclaimed Georgian director Levan Koguashvili, which will be a Georgian/Russian/Bulgarian/French coproduction.

LJUBLJANA: Slovenian director Urša Menart has started work on her first full-length feature film My Last Year as a Loser, a drama which points out that in the last couple of years the majority of smart, educated and ambitious young people have left Slovenia or are planning to leave.

PRAGE: The latest in a string of German period films shooting in the Czech Republic this year, Die Vergeltung/The Retribution started filming on locations in Jaroměř and Hradec Králové in mid June 2016.

TALLINN: The Estonian animation studio A Film Estonia is coproducing a 26-minute animated film with Dublin’s Giant Animation. The Overcoat will be voiced by Cillian Murphy and Alfred Molina. Kristel Tolsepp is producing for A Film Estonia.

WARSAW: High Life, the first English-language film from Palm D'Or winner Claire Denis, has received 1.5 m PLN from the Polish Film Institute. The film will be a coproduction between France, Germany, UK and Poland.

BUCHAREST: Universal's fantasy film Dragonheart 4 by Patrik Syversen, a direct-to-video sequel to the series Dragonheart 3: The Sorcerer's Curse, was shot entirely in Romania and has moved to postproduction.

SARAJEVO: Seventeen years after the premiere of Peaceful Days in Sarajevo (1999, Promenades Films) in the ACID Programme at Cannes Film Festival and two feature films later François Lunel is returning to wartime stories with Those Dark Nights.

PRAGUE: The Oscar-winning Czech director Jan Svěrák is in preproduction with Barefoot in a Stubble / Po strništi bos based on the book by his father Zdeněk Svěrák.

BUCHAREST: Director/producer Dinu Tănase (At the End of the Line, Studioul Cinematografic București) is in postproduction with Frozen Ignat (working title), a drama set to be released in spring 2017.

WARSAW: It's a wrap for Wojciech Smarzowski's new history drama Volyhnia set to premiere in October 2016.

SOFIA: Atanas Hristoskov’s low-budget second feature film Eighteen is in postproduction.
