BUCHAREST: Radu Dinulescu is in post-production with The Cernosaurs, a 70 minute 2D animation film produced by the Romanian company Artis Film (www.artisfilm.ro ) with the support of the National Centre for Cinema (www.cncinema.abt.ro ) and Romanian public television (www.tvr.ro ).

{mosimage}BUCHAREST: Romanian Emmy-winning director Alexander Nanau is in production with Totonel, a 90 minute documentary about the education of a 10 year old boy growing up in an ill-fated neighborhood in Bucharest. He started shooting in February 2011 and plans to wrap in April 2012.

{mosimage}WARSAW: After a filming break of over a year, production has resumed on the Polish war drama Mystery Of Westerplatte (Tajemnica Westerplatte), a debut film directed by Paweł Chochlew.

BUDAPEST: Hungarian director and writer Szabolcs Hajdu in in mid-production with The Gambler, the follow-up to his 2010 film Bibliotheque Pascal, Hungary's candidate for the foreign language Oscar in 2011.

SOFIA: Bulgarian-born director/writer Kristina Nikolova is in postproduction with her first full-length feature film, Faith, Love and Whiskey with an completion date of January 2012.

{mosimage}BUCHAREST: Vlad Paunescu, the owner and CEO of Castel Film Studios (www.castelfilm.ro), is developing Regina directului /Live Queen, his first feature film as a director. Live Queen won a production grant of 216,551 Euro (942,000 RON) from the National Centre for Cinema (www.cncinema.abt.ro) in November 2011 and is expected to go into production late fall 2012, to take advantage of the gloomy weather, Castel Film Studios marketing manager Bogdan Moncea told FNE.

SOFIA: The Bulgarian production company Agitprop (www.agitprop.bg) is in the final postproduction on The Last Black Sea Pirates and Sir Norman Foster, a debut full-length documentary directed and written by Svetoslav Stoyanov, along with writer Van, along with writer Vanya Rainova.

PRAGUE: Czech director and screenwriter Bohdan Slama is in the final stages of postproduction with the drama Four Suns, which is expected to be completed in early 2012 for a Czech release on 8 March 2012. The film has been selected to screen in competition at the Sundance Film Festival in late January.

WARSAW: ATM Grupa has just begun production on Galeria, a TV series that will premiere on Polish public broadcaster TVP1 in January 2012.

{mosimage}BUCHAREST: Director, screenwriter and producer Tudor Giurgiu is developing his third feature and currently co-writing the third draft with Loredana Novak. The film will be produced by Libra Film (www.librafilm.net).

{mosimage}ZAGREB: Director/screenwriter Branko Schmidt is in postproduction with the dramatic feature film Cannibal Vegetarian, with an expected completion date of February 2012. The 85-minute film is produced by Stanislav Babic for Telefilm.

WARSAW: Shooting has begun on Blood of Blood, an action series produced by Endemol Poland for Canal +. The show is the second original Polish television production that Canal + commissioned in 2011.

{mosimage}SOFIA: A Bulgarian/Croatian/German coproduction, Sofia's Last Ambulance directed by Ilian Metev was presented at the 2011 Doc Launch organized by the Institute of Documentary Film in Jihlava . The documentary follows three ambulance workers struggling to save lives in Sofia's crumbling medical system. The film, which will be released in 52 minute and 85 minute versions, has a budget of 260,000 euros. Metev is the cinematographer as well as directing.

BRATISLAVA: Fledgling Slovak director Lukáš Hanulák and award-winning scriptwriter Hana Cielová (The Sixth Sentence)are co-writing the first draft of Piargy: Antichrist Reborn, a feature based on a short story by Slovak 20^th century writer František Švantner.

{mosimage}BUCHAREST: Two years after Police, Adjective/Poliţist, adjectiv won Un Certain Regard Jury Prize and FIPRESCI Prize in Cannes, Corneliu Porumboiu is writing the script of a new feature A Nine-Minute Interval. He has completed the first draft and is working on the second one. A Nine-Minute Interval/Un interval de nouă minute will focus on Paul, a young film director whose project was blocked for a few years because it wasn't financed. In the meantime, he wrote and re-wrote the script. One day, Magda, his producer, tells him that she found some money but, since she didn't find all the funds, she proposes that he shoot on digital.

WARSAW: Director Krzysztof Łukasiewicz has begun shooting Żywie Biełaruś, a Polish production about the political reality on Belarus.
