ZAGREB: Filming on the Croatian/Macedonian/Kosovan coproduction Escort directed by Lukas Nola and produced by Kinorama began in Croatia in mid-October 2021. The film is being shot at several locations in Zagreb and its surroundings, as well as in Zagorje, Gorski Kotar, Mošćenička Draga and Opatija.

LJUBLJANA: Luka Marčetič has finished shooting At Hostar 2 / Pr’Hostar 2 ‰, the Slovenian domestic hit that still holds the record for the most admissions since 1991. The shooting, which took place in Bled, had started on 8 October and finished on 7 November 2021.

PRAGUE: Václav Marhoul is in preproduction with a biography of the disgraced American Senator Joseph McCarthy. The film under the working title McCarthy and slogan “The Godfather of Fear” is currently putting together its funding.

BRATISLAVA: Slovak director Ivan Ostrochovský is getting ready to start production on The Spring / Prameň. The drama about the state's interference in personal freedom will enter its first phase of production later this year.

BRATISLAVA: Slovak director Iveta Grófová is currently in production with her new feature film Emma and the Death’s Head / Ema a smrtihlav. This Slovak/Czech/Hungarian historical drama had been originally written and directed by Peter Krištúfek, who died tragically in 2018.

BELGRADE: The Serbian writer/director Vuk Ršumović is currently shooting his sophomore feature Dwelling Among Gods / Među bogovima, a coproduction between Serbia, Italy and Croatia. The script is based on a true event from 2015 and it is also a new reading of the ancient tragedy Antigone.

BELGRADE: The young Serbian director Luka Bursać is currently in production with his third feature film Videotheque / Videoteka, which has been supported by Film Center Serbia.

BUDAPEST: Romanian-born Budapest-based director Katalin Moldovai is currently in postproduction with her debut feature Total Eclipse (working title) / Teljes napfogyatkozás, whose 32-day shooting was completed on 3 September 2021 in Gheorgheni, Romania. The film is based on an incident that happened in Romania five years ago.

TALLINN: The acclaimed director Tanel Toom, whose short film The Confession was nominated to the 83rd Academy Awards in 2011, has wrapped shooting in Tallinn on sci-fi thriller Sentinel, a British/Estonian/German coproduction starring Kate Bosworth, Thomas Kretschmann, Lucien Laviscount and Martin McCann.

PODGORICA: The first part of the shooting for The Bay / Zaliv directed by Draško Đurović and starring Marisa Berenson wrapped on the Montenegrin coast. The film is a coproduction between Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

BELGRADE: The production of the first season of the first animated series created in Serbia and intended for global distribution, called Puffins Impossible – The Series, has been completed. It is a spin-off of the famous series Puffins, with Johnny Depp in the lead role. Depp came to Belgrade to promote the project.

PRAGUE: HBO is in production on the six-part Slovak TV series The Winner / Víťaz (working title), under the new label HBO Max Original. The Winner is being produced by Tereza Polachová and executive produced for HBO Max by Steve Matthews and Jonathan Young. The Czech company ETAMP Film Production is producing the project for HBO.

TBILISI: Georgian director/writer Irine Jordania is currently in production with her debut feature Air Blue Silk. The cinematographer is Giorgi Shvelidze, whose work on Namme directed by Zaza Khalvashi and produced by BAFIS in coproduction with Lithuania’s Tremora earned him the Spotlight Award from the American Society of Cinematographers in 2019.

ZAGREB: The debut feature Seventh Heaven / Sedmo nebo directed by Jasna Nanut and produced by Hrvoje Osvadić through Petnaesta umjetnost is currently shooting in Croatia.

RIGA: The Latvian director Signe Birkova is concluding postproduction on her documentary Ring of Fire / Ugunsaplis, which focuses on a group of four actors who have formed their own theatre company Kvadrifons and started to stage plays in the 130 year-old building of the Riga Circus. The film is produced by Uldis Cekulis for VFS Films.

BELGRADE: The Serbian/Croatian thriller Isolation / Izolacija directed by Marko Backović is currently in production. The film stars Miloš Biković, the most popular Serbian actor at the moment, who is also one of the producers.
