RIGA: Latvian documentary director Uģis Olte has completed the principal shooting for his debut fiction feature film, a mythological thriller Upurga, produced by Uldis Cekulis and Raitis Ābele at VFS Films.

PODGORICA: The Montenegrin/Serbian full-length documentary Djina, directed by Sara Stijovic, received a 20,000 EUR grant from Film Center Serbia. It was one of eight projects receiving grants in the minority production category, out of 43 projects submitted.

BRATISLAVA: Nobody Likes Me / Nikto ma nemá rád by Czech directors Tomáš Weinreb and Petr Kazda is in preproduction. The drama is produced by the Slovak company Arytmia Film and the Czech company Black Balance and coproduced by Arizona Productions (France) and Bord Cadre Films (Switzerland).

BUDAPEST: The British/Hungarian coproduction Mrs Harris Goes to Paris is currently filming in Hungary until the end of November 2020. The film will move on to Paris and London to shoot additional scenes. Anthony Fabian's comedy is the newest adaptation of Paul Gallico's bestseller set in the 1950s, about an English cleaning lady who falls in love with a Dior dress and goes to Paris to buy the expensive garment.

PODGORICA: The Montenegrin/Serbian coproduction The Face of Honour / Djeca (working title), directed by Nikola Vukcevic, has recently wrapped shooting in Montenegro. The film, with a screenplay by Ana Vujadinovic and Melina Pota Koljevic, stars Albanian actor Edon Rizvanolli.

VALLETTA: The adaptation of the Maltese National Book Council award-winning novel The Viper's Pit / Is-Sriep Reġgħu Sara Velenużi, directed by Martin Bonnici, is in postproduction. 

RIGA: Latvian director Ieva Ozoliņa is in postproduction with her third feature length documentary My Mother the State / Mana māte – valsts, produced by Madara Melberga at Fa Filma (Latvia) and coproduced by Larus Jonsson at Republik (Iceland).

VILNIUS: Lithuanian director Ernestas Jankauskas is in postproduction with his second fiction feature I Am Fine, Thanks / Man viskas gerai, produced by Gabija Siurbytė and Greta Akcijonaitė at DANSU. The film will be presented at Baltic Event Work in Progress taking place as part of this year’s online one-week summit for film and audiovisual industry professionals, held during the Black Nights Film Festival PÖFF, on 23 - 27 November 2020.

RIGA: The award-winning Ukrainian director Alina Gorlova’s third feature documentary This Rain Will Never Stop completed postproduction ahead of its world premiere in the IDFA First Appearance Competition. The film is produced by Maksym Nakonechnyi at Tabor (Ukraine) and coproduced by Ilona Bičevska at Avantis Promo (Latvia) and Patrick Hamm at Bulldog Agenda (Germany).

RIGA: Latvian director Matīss Kaža is in postproduction with his third fiction feature Neon Spring / Neona pavasaris produced by Dace Siatkovska and Kaža at Deep Sea Studios. BRATISLAVA: The Czech/Slovak adventure drama Snake Gas / Hadí plyn directed by David Jařab is moving into preproduction. Arina Film production is the Slovak coproducer.

BUDAPEST: Fanni Szilagyi completed the production of her first feature film at the end of October. Ice Cream Could Be Dangerous / Veszélyes lehet a fagyi is a magic realist drama about a pair of identical twins. Éva and Adél have become estranged from each other, but the unexpected appearance of a man jolts them out of their routine behaviour.

BUCHAREST: Radu Ciorniciuc, whose first documentary Acasă My Home is nominated at the European Film Awards in the European Documentary 2020 category, is currently in production with his second documentary. Tata, co-directed with Lina Vdovîi (the writer from Acasă My Home) and produced again by Romania's Manifest Film, it is set for release in 2023.

TBILISI: Georgian siblings and film directors Khvicha and Tinatin Emiridze are currently in postproduction with their long documentary debut Respublika. The first shoot took place in July 2018 in Georgia.

BUCHAREST: The eight-part series Around the World in 80 Days, a European coproduction directed by Steve Barron and starring David Tennant, is currently filming in Romania. Castel Film Studio is providing services.

BELGRADE: Director Ana Lazarević is currently in postproduction with her feature debut The Game / Igra, as a coproduction between Serbia and the USA.
