RIGA: Latvian documentary director Uģis Olte has completed the principal shooting for his debut fiction feature film, a mythological thriller Upurga, produced by Uldis Cekulis and Raitis Ābele at VFS Films.

PODGORICA: The Montenegrin/Serbian full-length documentary Djina, directed by Sara Stijovic, received a 20,000 EUR grant from Film Center Serbia. It was one of eight projects receiving grants in the minority production category, out of 43 projects submitted.

PRODUCTION: British/Hungarian Mrs Harris Goes to Budapest
BUDAPEST: The British/Hungarian coproduction Mrs Harris Goes to Paris is currently filming in Hungary until the end of November 2020. The film will move on to Paris and London to shoot additional scenes. Anthony Fabian's comedy is the newest adaptation of Paul Gallico's bestseller set in the 1950s, about an English cleaning lady who falls in love with a Dior dress and goes to Paris to buy the expensive garment.

PODGORICA: The Montenegrin/Serbian coproduction The Face of Honour / Djeca (working title), directed by Nikola Vukcevic, has recently wrapped shooting in Montenegro. The film, with a screenplay by Ana Vujadinovic and Melina Pota Koljevic, stars Albanian actor Edon Rizvanolli.

RIGA: The award-winning Ukrainian director Alina Gorlova’s third feature documentary This Rain Will Never Stop completed postproduction ahead of its world premiere in the IDFA First Appearance Competition. The film is produced by Maksym Nakonechnyi at Tabor (Ukraine) and coproduced by Ilona Bičevska at Avantis Promo (Latvia) and Patrick Hamm at Bulldog Agenda (Germany).

BUCHAREST: Radu Ciorniciuc, whose first documentary Acasă My Home is nominated at the European Film Awards in the European Documentary 2020 category, is currently in production with his second documentary. Tata, co-directed with Lina Vdovîi (the writer from Acasă My Home) and produced again by Romania's Manifest Film, it is set for release in 2023.
