The debut feature by Czech artist Vojtěch Mašek is based on true events and follows "a modern Faust" Dr. Jiří Arvéd Smichovsky, who signed his soul to the Nazi regime. The Czech Film Fund and the Slovak Audiovisual Fund are supporting.

RIGA: Latvian director Māris Martinsons has started production on In the Land that Sings (working title) / Zeme, kas dzied. The historical drama is set in the second half of the 19th century, when the first Latvian Song Festival took place. The initial shooting period ran from 9 to 20 March in Riga and Ramava. The next shooting period is planned for January and the summer of 2022. The film is produced by Linda Krūkle for K Films.

SKOPJE: Behind the Haystacks, a Greek/Macedonian/German coproduction, filmed on both sides of the Greece – North Macedonia border, has entered the postproduction stage. The debut by Asimina Proedrou received support from the North Macedonia Film Agency, Greek Film Center and Eurimages.
