TALLINN: Estonian director/writer Martti Helde is currently in postproduction with his long documentary Vertical Money / Vara küps, a nature catastrophe film shot in more than 60 different places in Estonia.

BELGRADE: Bulgarian director Todor Chapkanov is currently in postproduction with MEGDAN: Between Water and Fire / MEGDAN: Između vode i vatre, a sports drama he is also coproducing. The film is a coproduction of Serbia, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova.

BELGRADE: The thriller TV series Scar / Cicatriz, which is currently in preproduction, is the first international TV series project of such magnitude for Telekom Serbia. The Spanish/Serbian/Mexican coproduction based on the bestseller by Juan Gómez-Jurado will start shooting by the end of 2023.

TALLINN: Finnish director/writer Miia Tervo is currently in postproduction with his feature film The Missile / Ohjus, which will be completed by the end of 2023. The film was supported by the Estonian Film Institute.

BUCHAREST: Subteran, the first Romanian original Netflix series, has started shooting in Bucharest. The six-episode series is produced by Tudor Reu through the company Mobra Films, founded by Cristian Mungiu. Anca Miruna Lăzărescu, Daniel Sandu and Octav Gheorghe are directing.

LJUBLJANA: Slovenian director Gregor Andolšek has started shooting his debut feature This Is a Robbery! / To je rop!, a black comedy supported by the Slovenian Film Center.

LJUBLJANA: Darko Štante, one of the voices of the young generation of Slovenian directors and screenwriters, is currently shooting his sophomore feature The Lost Son / Izgubljeni sin. The 30-days shooting of this Slovenian/Croatian/ Macedonian/Greek coproduction takes place in Ljubljana, Trieste and Gorizia.

BUDAPEST: Belgian director/writer Caroline Strubbe is putting the final touches on her new project, the feature film The Silent Treatment, whose premiere is planned in the spring of 2024.

VILNIUS. Lithuanian director Jurgis Matulevičius is currently shooting his sophomore feature China Sea / Kinų jūra. The film is a coproduction between Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic and Taiwan.

ZAGREB: Bosnian Oscar winner director Danis Tanović has wrapped shooting of his new feature film After the Summer, a regional coproduction involving Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Romania.

TALLINN: Estonian director Jaak Kilmi is currently in postproduction with his new feature film The Shadow / Vari.

SARAJEVO: After a 20-year-long hiatus, Bosnian director Dino Mustafić, whose debut film Remake (Refresh) won a Special Mention at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2003, is currently in production with his second feature. The Pavilion / Paviljon is a coproduction between Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, North Macedonia and Croatia, starring well-known actors Rade Šerbedžija, Miralem Zubčević, Mirjana Karanović and Ermin Bravo.

BRATISLAVA: Slovak director Martina Buchelová’s debut feature Lover, Not a Fighter / Milovník, nie bojovník has wrapped filming and will enter postproduction soon. This romantic tragicomedy is produced by Slovak NINJA film and Czech Unit+Sofa, and coproduced by the Radio and Television Slovakia.

BELGRADE: Latvia’s Forma Pro Films and Serbia’s Red Production are on board as producer and coproducer, respectively, of the new film by Russian director Kirill Serebrennikov, Disappearance / DSPR (working title). German actor August Diehl stars as Josef Mengele during his years on the run from Paraguay to the jungles of Brazil.

TALLINN: Acclaimed Finnish director/screenwriter Klaus Härö is currently shooting his feature film Never Alone / Ei koskaan yksin – Nie Allein, which is a Finnish/Swedish/Estonian/Austrian/German coproduction. The filming is taking place in Estonia, for 24 shooting days, and also in Finland.

PODGORICA: Amerissa Basta’s debut feature Life in a Beat has wrapped shooting in Athens, Greece. The film is a coproduction between Greece, North Macedonia, Cyprus and Montenegro.
