BRATISLAVA: Successful Slovak documentary filmmakers Lucia Kašová, Barbora Sliepková and Viera Čákanyová are in mid-production with Wasteland Chronicles / Zóny nikoho, a dystopian documentary exploring three Slovak ecological disasters: the tar dump in the village of Predajná and the pollution caused by chemical factories on the eastern border of Slovakia and in Bratislava.

LJUBLJANA: Slovenian director Dejan Babosek has finished his fourth feature Hole / Jama. This mix of a black comedy, crime story, western and horror film is the first feature film in ex-Yugoslavia to be released in cinemas in Dolby Atmos technology. The film will be released in Slovenian Cinemas on 22 February 2024 by Fivia.

ZAGREB: The hybrid documentary Funk YU, directed by the main protagonist Franko Dujmić, has so far reached over 50 percent of the planned funding goal on a crowdfunding campaign launched to cover its postproduction stage. The film is produced by Croatia’s Wolfgang & Dolly and coproduced by Slovenia’s Astral Film, Serbia’s Nana 143 and Montenegro’s Videa Production.
