PRAGUE: Czech director Veronika Lišková is currently in production with her debut feature Year of the Widow / Rok vdovy, which is a Czech/Slovak/Croatian coproduction. The screenplay, written by Lišková’s partner, screenwriter Eugen Liška, was inspired by a series of articles by Zuzana Pokorná, a diary like reflection of the first year of the author’s widowhood.

TALLINN: Estonian twin directors/screenwriters Raul and Romet Esko wrapped shooting on their first feature film Two of Me / Mind on kaks on 5 September 2023 in Estonia. The film is about two twin filmmakers, who are trying to make a film about twins. Five additional shooting days are forthcoming in an African country in late 2023.

ZAGREB: The 22-episode TV series The Highlands created by Maja Pek-Brünjes and Danijel Pek, and produced by Antitalent for the Croatian Radiotelevision is now in postproduction. The series directed by Mladen Dizdar, Aldo Tardozzi and Radislav Jovanov Gonzo was filmed for 98 days from May to August 2023.

BELGRADE: Serbian drama series Time of Death / Vreme smrti, directed by Ivan Živković and based on the bestseller by author and politician Dobrica Ćosić, is currently in postproduction. It took a team of 400 actors and actresses, a couple of thousand extras, as well as 13 months (188 shooting days) and hundreds of locations in various parts of Serbia to shoot the 1,200 pages long screenplay.

PRODUCTION: Veteran Director Lordan Zafranović Shoots Serbian Feature Film The Children of Kozara
BELGRADE: Following a short shooting in the summer of 2022, more than 100 actors and 60 professionals are currently filming the Serbian feature and TV drama series The Children of Kozara / Djeca Kozare in the vicinity of the Serbian town of Bela Crkva. The project is directed by the renowned Yugoslav filmmaker Lordan Zafranović, thus making his first feature in this post-Yugoslav region since 1988.

LJUBLJANA: Slovenian director Ester Ivakič starts shooting her debut feature Ida Who Sang So Badly Even the Dead Rose Up and Joined Her in Song / Ida, ki je pela tako grdo, da so še mrtvi vstali od mrtvih in zapeli z njo (working title Neither Voice) on 19 July 2023. The film is a Slovenian/Croatian coproduction supported by the Slovenian Film Centre.
