MESTIA: Seventeen films including four world premieres will screen in the main competition of the Svaneti International Film Festival DALI, which will be held in Mestia, Georgia 15 - 21 July 2024.

TALLINN: A total of 245 hours of the film archives in the National Archives of Estonia were digitalised by the end of 2023.

POTSDAM: Over 70 international film professionals travelled to Potsdam on 3 July 2024 for the 24th edition of German Films Previews, an annual three-day event organised by German Films since 2001.

5.7. 2024 Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic: At a Press Conference on 5 July in the Zander Hall of the Imperial Spa in Karlovy Vary, the 1st Annual Czech Leonarda Film Award is launched for female filmmakers who create scripts for feature and documentary films, animated films, new TV formats and experimental films for cinema, television or the web.

Following last year's successful German Films Previews in Potsdam, German Films invited film buyers to come again to the Brandenburg state capital at the beginning of July. International film buyers from around the globe travelled to Germany on Wednesday, 3 July 2024 for the annual event which celebrated its 24th edition in 2024. The buyers from Australia probably had the furthest journey to take, but guests from Argentina, Mexico, the USA, Taiwan, Israel and Lebanon also came from afar. In addition, there were numerous buyers from Europe, from Spain to Poland and Estonia, and from Turkey through Greece all the way to the UK.

This year for the ninth time FNE together with FIPRESCI organised the ratings of all feature films in the main Crystal Globe competition, and the Proxima competition of the official Karlovy Vary International Film Festival programme by international critics attending the Festival.

BUCHAREST: Romanian gross box office was 62 m EUR in 2023, higher by 25.7 percent than in 2022, and total admissions increased by 15.7 percent, according to official statistics published by the Romanian Film Centre (CNC).

SOFIA: American actress Jessica Lange attended the opening of her photo exhibition at the National Gallery in Sofia on 4 July 2024. This is the 16th exhibition in the programme Masters of Photography organised by the museum.

The 58th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, a non-specialized festival with two competitive categories, took place from June 28th to July 6th 2024. It was organized by Film Servis Festival Karlovy Vary, a.s., with Jiří Bartoška as the president of the festival, Karel Och as its artistic director, Kryštof Mucha as the executive director and Petr Lintimer as the head of production.

BUCHAREST: Romanian director Tudor Cristian Jurgiu will start shooting his third feature film On Their Own / De capul lor at the end of July 2024. The film is a Romanian/Italian coproduction produced by Tudor Giurgiu and Bogdan Crăciun of Libra Films in coproduction with Simone Catania and Francesca Portalupi of Indyca.
