VALLETTA: Minister for National Heritage, Arts and Local Government Owen Bonnici will assume responsibility for the film industry and the Malta Film Commission.
Lithuania Announces Minority Coproduction and Short Production Grants - July 2024
Lithuania 28-11-2024The Lithuanian Film Centre distributed 312,410 EUR as production support for five minority coproductions and three first short film on 1 July 2024.
The following production grants were announced by the Arts Council Malta on 21 November 2024.
VILNIUS: Lithuania’s capital city will host 500 guests at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Vilnius as the 23rd Europa Cinemas Network Conference will be held for the first time in the Baltic Countries from 28 November to 1 December 2024.
The Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) will set the focus on Catalan Cinema in 2025 in its 29th edition. The focus is driven by the growing international reputation of the Catalan film industry and its ambition to be more visible and seek opportunities for cooperation in the region. The focus is promoted by The Catalan Institute of Cultural Companies (ICEC) and Institut Ramon Llull, which aim to internationalize Catalan audiovisual talent and companies in the sector.
LJUBLJANA: Lesson Learned by Bálint Szimler received the Kingfisher Award for the Best Film in the Perspectives Competition at the 35th edition of the Ljubljana International Film Festival (LIFFE, 13 – 24 November 2024).
At the Award Ceremony of the 28th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF), awards were presented to the winners of the festival’s six competition programmes and PÖFF’s youth and children’s film sub-festival Just Film.
After an exciting week of networking, presentations, panel discussions, and meetings, Industry@Tallinn &; Baltic Event celebrated the most outstanding projects with the award ceremony. 17 awards were handed out to film projects at various stages of scriptwriting, development, or post-production, with an additional two awards recognizing promising producers.
PÖFF Honors Georgian film legend Lana Gogoberidze for Lifetime Achievement Award
Festivals 21-11-2024The second lifetime achievement award of this year’s Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) will be given to one of Georgia’s most renowned directors, Lana Gogoberidze. The 96-year-old legend will be presenting two of her films at this year's festival.
