Tiina Lokk, the founder and artistic director of Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF), announces that the 2024 Dennis Davidson Spotlight Award will be presented to Farah Nabulsi’s The Teacher at the Closing Ceremony on Saturday, November 23rd. British-Palestinian director Nabulsi and British producer Sawsan Asfari will be on hand for the award presentation.

The National Film Institute Hungary acquired all media rights for the documentary film Made in England: The Films of Powell and Pressburger, directed by David Hinton, for Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Poland. The film will be screened on November 7th during the 15th American Film Festival in Wroclaw.

JIHLAVA: The Slovak/Czech coproduction Ms. President directed by Marek Šulík won the Main Award in the Opus Bonum competition of the 28th Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival, held 25 October – 3 November 2024.

PODGORICA: Over 100 cities in 42 countries are taking part in the 3rd edition of the Month of European Film 2024 (1 November – 7 December), organised by the European Film Academy (EFA). Montenegro is the first country in Europe to have the Month of European Film taking place in all cinemas.

Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival 2024 announces full programme and the line-ups of seven juries that will be evaluating the six competition programmes of the festival. The awards will be announced at the festival’s Award Ceremony, which takes place on the 23th of November. 

Eight industry awards were presented today to the most promising projects participating in the Ji.hlava New Visions Forum 2024. In total, thirty projects from Europe, United States and East & Southeast Asia were presented at the Forum. The projects in development, production and post-production were among those presented. The The winners received numerous cash and in-kind awards accorded in cooperation with the partners of Ji.hlava IDFF. See the list of all winners.
