TALLINN: Estonian feature films have postponed their December 2020 releases and moved the premieres to the beginning of 2021, due to the new restrictions and increase in COVID-19 cases.
TALLINN: The Estonian animation and interactive content studio IMEPILT Studios will launch an IPO in Tallinn. The offering will take place on the Nordic platform Nasdaq First North, which is mainly aimed for small or mid-sized companies. Shares worth up to 1.5 million EUR will be offered. The open call started on 30 November 2020 and will end on 11 December.
TALLINN: HBO Europe’s Czech branch presented its award of 5,000 USD to the Croatian project Afterparty, which participated in MIDPOINT TV Launch in Tallinn. Projects from Croatia, Hungary, Latvia and Serbia were among those presented at the 26 November 2020 presentation of MIDPOINT TV Launch, which was held as part of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event.

ESTONIA: The coming of age drama On the Water / Vee peal by renowned Estonian director Peeter Simm has its premiere at the 24th Black Nights FF, which runs through 29 November 2020.
TALLINN: The Estonian Film Institute has given out 3,140,900 EUR in grants to five Estonian productions and ten minority productions in 2020.
TALLINN: The Estonian historical spy-thriller O2 directed by Margus Paju is leading the Estonian box office since its release on 9 October 2020. The film was produced by Nafta Films (Estonia) and Taska Film (Estonia), and coproduced by Film Angels Studio (Latvia), IN SCRIPT (Lithuania) and Finland’s Solar Films. It was supported by the Estonian Film Institute.
TALLINN: The Estonian government has decided to support the film sector with an additional 3 m EUR. The money will go to the Estonian Film Institute and is aimed at supporting new productions in 2021.
TALLINN: Tanel Toom’s debut drama won five top awards at the fourth Estonian Film and Television Awards (EFTA). The gala, which was initially planned for April 2020, but was postponed until September due to the COVID-19 crisis, took place with a reduced number of guests in attendance.
