VILNIUS: The Lithuanian Film Centre distributed 514,250 EUR in its second batch of grants in 2022. Ten projects in production received 332,400 EUR and 11 projects in development received 181,850 EUR.
VILNIUS: Lithuania is the main location for Sky History 4x60-minute documentary series The Royal Mob directed by Fraser McDonald. The shooting in Lithuania is serviced by Baltic FilmServices and is benefiting from the Lithuanian Film Centre's tax incentives scheme.
KAUNAS: The Lithuanian Film Centre is organising the Days of Lithuanian Cinema Classics throughout the country on 3 - 4 August 2022. Among the films to be presented there is My Little Wife / Mano mažytė žmona (1985) by Raimundas Banionis, which was recently restored and digitalised by the Central State Archives of Lithuania.
VILNIUS: The sci-fi drama Vesper by Lituanian director Kristina Buožytė and French director Bruno Samper will be released in Lithuania by Kino Pavasaris on 30 September 2022. Recently, the film won the Jury’s Choice Award at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, which took place in South Korea 7-17 July 2022.
VILNIUS: Lithuania‘s Dublis LT wrapped the shooting the romantic comedy Men's Dreams by Justinas Krisiūnas. The previous film by the same team of producers and director, Man for Money / Vyras už pinigus was a big hit at the local box office with over 85,000 admissions since its theatrical release on 31 December 2021.
VILNIUS: The second season of the German TV series Sisi is currently shooting in Lithuania, produced by Story House Pictures GmbH for RTL+ and serviced by the Lithuanian company UAB Nordic Productions. The shooting is benefiting from the Lithuanian Film Centre's tax incentives scheme.
VILNIUS: Pilgrims by Laurynas Bareiša was awarded best feature film at the Lithuanian National Silver Crane Film Awards ceremony, which took place at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania on 5 June 2022. Altogether 31 films competed for the awards in 22 categories.
