BUCHAREST: Alexandru Solomon's documentary Tarzan's Testicles has been acquired by the Leipzig-based sales company Deckert Distribution.
SIBIU: The Italian/French coproduction Deliver Us by Federica Di Giacomo was awarded best international documentary at the 24th ASTRA Film Festival (16-22 October 2017), the largest documentary festival in Romania and one of the most important film festivals in the region. Radu Jude's The Dead Nation won the Romanian competition.
TBILISI: UK’s Alief is handling the sales of Ana Urushadze’s debut feature Scary Mother together with Georgian production company Studio Artizm. Lasha Khalvashi, who produced the film through Studio Artizm, told FNE that negotiations with several distributors and buyers are currently underway.
TBILISI: The new feature film by Tinatin Kajrishvili is currently in its final financing process. Citizen Saint will be a Georgian/Swedish/German coproduction with shooting set for autumn 2018.
ZAGREB: The Croatian Audiovisual Centre distributed 452,116 EUR / 3,395,000 HRK as production grants for minority coproductions, and script development and project development support for TV productions.
BUCHAREST: Writers/directors Gabi Virginia Șarga and Cătălin Rotaru are in preproduction with their first feature film, Thou Shalt Not Kill / Să nu ucizi aka Primum Non Nocere.

Located in Semily, in the northern part of the Czech Republic (not far from the Polish border), the cinema is well integrated in the life of the 8,000 residents of the town. It scored 30,000 viewers in 2016. The activity of the cinema is intertwined with film education, film practice (students learning filmmaking) and live transmissions. The cinema even organises a small festival, Fokus Fest.
