BUCHAREST: Theatre and film actress Oana Ioachim passed away on 11 September 2015 at the age of 48. She played in Amen by Costa-Gavras and more recently in Răzvan Săvescu's debut feature America, Here We Come!.

BUCHAREST: Anca Mitran has won the contest organised by the Ministry of Culture and will be appointed General Director at the National Film Center (CNC). 

SARAJEVO: The new project of the acclaimed writer/director Aida Begić, A Ballad / Balada, is a story about love in post-apocalyptic Bosnia and Herzegovina where myths and reality intertwine. The premiere is set for 2017.

SARAJEVO: Deniz Gamze Ergüven's Mustang was awarded Best Film in the feature film competition of the 21th Sarajevo Film Festival, running from 14 to 22 August 2015. The festival gave Honorary Heart of Sarajevo Awards to Atom Egoyan and Benicio Del Toro.

SARAJEVO: Ines Tanović, whose debut feature Our Everyday Life (Dokument Sarajevo) had its world premiere in the international competition of the 21th Sarajevo Film Festival, is developing her second feature, The Son.

SARAJEVO: Catrinel Dănăiaţă's debut feature Double delves into depression, isolation, lack of maturity and loss of the individual self.

SARAJEVO:  Rezo Gigineishvili is prepping his dream project Honeymoon Flight, a true story of a flight hijacking by Georgian youngsters in 1983, set to start shooting in late October 2015. The feature was selected for the CineLink Co-Production Market, 19-22 August 2015.
