WARSAW: Polish actor Tomasz Kot has responded to a deluge of international media reports that allege a conflict between Danny Boyle and Daniel Craig over who would play the main villain was the reason behind the director walking away from the 25th Bond film.

RADOM: Polish director Jacek Gwizdała is working on a biopic project The Priest / Klecha, planned as a feature drama and a TVP three-part mini-series, and focusing on Roman Kotlarz, a priest oppressed by the Communist regime.

WARSAW: Director/screenwriter Maciej Pieprzyca is in preparation with Ikarus. The story of Mietek Kosz, a biopic about the famous Polish pianist Mietek Kosz (1944-1973), who lost his eyesight when he was 12 and died tragically at the age of 29.

WROCLAW: Swedish director Isabella Eklöf won the Grand Prize in the International Competition for her drama Holiday at the 18th edition of the New Horizons International Film Festival. The festival wrapped in Wroclaw on 5 August 2018.

WROCLAW: One of the key events of the 7th Polish Days held at the 18th New Horizons IFF was the pitching session showcasing 11 upcoming projects including international coproductions and new films by Anna Kazejak, Leszek Dawid and Piotr Domalewski.

WROCŁAW: Nine Polish projects currently in production and postproduction were showcased on during the last day of Polish Days, an industry event held at New Horizons IFF, including new films from Jan Komasa, Jacek Borcuch and Borys Lankosz.

WROCŁAW: The 7th edition of Polish Days Completed Films (30 July-1 August 2018) within the 18th New Horizons International Film Festival showcased five completed Polish projects including the new titles by Bartosz Konopka, Jagoda Szelc and Łukasz Grzegorzek. This year there was a record number of submissions – 80.

WARSAW: The Polish Government has approved a new draft bill offering a 30% cash rebate on qualifying film production expenses. The Polish Film Institute will have a 200m PLN / 46m EUR budget to refund partial costs of film production in Poland.

WROCŁAW: Ewa Puszczyńska is developing Tomasz Wasilewski new drama Fools/Głupcy (working title), which will be a Polish/Romanian coproduction together with the Romanian Ada Solomon and lensed by Romanian Oleg Mutu. Producer of Oscar winning Ida talked to FNE during 9th NH Studio+ (27-30 July 2018) taking place at the 18th New Horizons IFF in Wrocław.
